    About This Service

Most copper phone work in Australia is officially obsolete since the NBN rollout - but the lines themselves still carry critical signalling for lift emergency phones, fire panels, EFTPOS terminals, alarm dialers and the occasional fax that refuses to die. Replacing those legacy services with NBN voice or 4G/5G failover devices requires the same ACMA Open Cabling Registration that the old copper work did.

Tradetek's cablers hold ACMA Open registration with structured cabling endorsement and work to AS/CA S009. We trace dead lines with tone-and-probe and TDR meters, replace failed line filters and splitters, install new RJ12/RJ45 outlets, and run new cable for internal extensions when needed. NBN voice (VoIP) gets configured at the ATA or router, with proper QoS so calls don't drop when someone streams.

Critical-service work includes lift emergency phones (AS 1735.12 compliance, monthly test register, 4G failover units where copper is gone), fire indicator panel dialers (AS 1670 monitored line), EFTPOS line repairs that get a merchant trading again same-day, and PABX migration to hosted VoIP with number porting handled end-to-end.

Residential work covers internal phone extensions for home offices, NBN voice setup when the technician left and the phone never worked, intercom and door-station wiring, and removal of the redundant copper Telstra wiring that adds nothing but RFI to a home network. CCEW issued where the work intersects electrical.

    ACMA Open Registration

Legally qualified to terminate any cable connected to a telecommunications network - the federal requirement most generic technicians don't hold.

    Lift & Fire Compliance

AS 1735.12 lift phones and AS 1670 fire dialers - we issue the test certificates auditors and strata managers ask for.

    Same-Day EFTPOS Repairs

Merchant trading priority - dead EFTPOS line traced, repaired and tested same day so card payments keep flowing.

    Number Porting Handled

PABX-to-VoIP migration includes number porting with the carrier - your published number doesn't change.
