Switchboard Upgrades - From Ceramic Fuse to Full RCD Compliance

If your Sydney home still runs on ceramic rewireable fuses (white porcelain holders, copper wire across the top), a Federal Pacific Stab-Lok panel, or any board without RCD safety switches on every circuit, you're working off pre-1980s electrical standards. Insurers are increasingly excluding fire damage where the cause is traced to a non-compliant switchboard. Solar installers won't connect new PV without RCD-protected sub-circuits. Ausgrid won't approve EV charger installs above 32A without a Type B RCD that legacy boards can't accept.
