How It Works
Requirements Review
We determine what compliance documentation you need based on your situation — sale, rental, renovation, or business operation.
Inspection & Testing
Our licensed electrician conducts a thorough inspection and testing of your electrical installation against current standards.
Defect Rectification
If defects are found, we provide a quote to bring the installation up to compliance. Minor issues can often be fixed during the visit.
Certificate Issued
Once compliant, we issue the appropriate certificates and documentation for your records, insurance, or property transaction.
About This Service
Electrical compliance in NSW is policed by three different bodies and most owners never realise it until something goes wrong - Ausgrid/Endeavour for the service line and metering, NSW Fair Trading for licensed work and CCEWs (Certificates of Compliance Electrical Work), and the insurer or managing agent who reads the report. A failed audit can stop a settlement, void a claim, or sit on the property as a defect notice for years.
Tradetek's licensed electricians work to AS/NZS 3000:2018 (the Wiring Rules) and AS/NZS 3760 for in-service safety testing. Every audit covers the main switchboard (busbar condition, neutral bar, MEN link, RCD/RCBO presence and test, breaker labelling), submains, earthing system, smoke alarms, and a sample of accessible circuits and outlets. We test, photograph and document - not a five-minute walk-through.
Common jobs include defect notice rectification, pre-purchase electrical inspections, rental compliance reports under the Residential Tenancies Regulation, insurance condition reports after a claim, strata common-area audits, and CCEW issuance for renovation work that needs to be signed off. We also handle the paperwork - lodging the CCEW with NSW Fair Trading within the required window.
You receive a written report with date-stamped photos, the relevant clause numbers, a priority-ranked defect list and a fixed-price quote for any remediation. Reports are formatted for lenders, conveyancers, insurers and managing agents - no rewrites needed.
What We Do
Why Choose Us
Audited to AS/NZS 3000
Every inspection references the Wiring Rules and AS/NZS 3760 - not a generic checklist. Clause numbers cited so the defect is defensible.
CCEW Lodged for You
We issue and lodge the Certificate of Compliance Electrical Work with NSW Fair Trading - the document lenders and councils ask for.
Photographed Reports
Date-stamped photos of every defect, every test result and the rectified state - accepted by insurers and conveyancers without rewrites.
Same-Day Rectification Quote
Defects are priced on the spot with a fixed written quote, so you can decide what to fix before settlement or the next tenancy.
