Wi-Fi handles convenience but it has never handled load. A 4K stream, two work-from-home video calls and a backup running over the same 5GHz channel will saturate any router. Hardwired Cat6 to the rooms that matter - office, media, gaming, IP cameras, access points - is what fixes the dropouts that nobody can diagnose. For new builds and renovations the cost difference between rough-in cabling and post-build retrofit is roughly 10x; the time to install is now.

Tradetek's cablers hold ACMA Open Cabling Registration with structured cabling and optical fibre endorsements - the legal qualification to terminate any cable connected to a telecommunications network in Australia. Every install is designed to AS/CA S009 (the Australian Cabling Standard) with terminations to ANSI/TIA-568-C.2 Category 6 or 6A depending on bandwidth requirement.

Residential work typically includes a 12 or 24-port patch panel in the comms cupboard, Cat6 runs to wall plates in every key room, ceiling-mount Wi-Fi access points (Ubiquiti or TP-Link Omada) where coverage matters, and a managed PoE switch to power them. Commercial fitouts add fibre backbone between floors, 48-port patch panels, environmental sensors and proper cable management in the rack.

Every run is tested to permanent-link spec with a Fluke or equivalent tester - wire map, length, attenuation, NEXT and return loss recorded against the cable ID. You receive the certification report as a PDF, labelled patch panel and labelled wall plates - the documentation that lets any future technician work on the system without guessing.
